Start with a head measurement
Measure around the part of the head where the hat will sit, keeping the tape level and comfortably placed. Record the measurement for each wearer rather than assigning a size from age alone. Children of the same age can need different fits. If you are unsure where a style should sit, ask for the supplier’s measuring guidance before placing a group order.
Read the chart for that exact style
Size labels are not interchangeable across products. The Kids Phoenix Bucket Hat description lists S/M as 52 cm and L/XL as 54 cm; those measurements belong to that product and should not be applied automatically to other kids bucket hats. Ask for any missing chart and current options rather than guessing from a photo.
Compare the shape as well as the number
Kids caps, bucket hats and brimmed hats sit differently. Check the closure where specified, crown shape and brim arrangement. A cap’s peak offers a different shape from the all-around brim of a bucket or cricket hat. Choose the style for the activity and your organisation’s requirements, and confirm comfort on the intended wearer where practical.
Make a size schedule for groups
For a school or club, record the product, size, colour and quantity on separate lines. Keep a small contingency visible if your organisation needs spares. Do not combine every child into one total and leave the size split for later, especially where several people need to approve or receive the order.
Check the logo area after choosing the hat
A logo can be affected by seams, eyelets and the shape of the crown. The catalogue may provide a branding area for a specific hat, but the final artwork still needs confirmation. Send the school or club logo with the selected product name and preferred placement. Avoid assuming that the same application works across every headwear style.
